How do I jump start my battery? First, be sure to follow these important safety tips:
•	Read your auto manual on jump starting.
•	Put on protective eye wear and clothing and remove all jewelry.
•	Don't allow smoking, open flames or sparks near the battery.
•	Don't attempt to jump start a car if gasoline fumes are present around either the source vehicle (good battery) or the dead vehicle.
•	Inspect the water level in the dead vehicle's battery and fill if needed.
•	Use extreme caution with jumper cables!
•	Avoid connecting cables in reverse polarity.
•	Place the source vehicle close enough to the dead vehicle so that the jumper cables reach between the batteries without stretching.
•	Do not let the vehicle bumpers touch.
•	Turn the source vehicle off before making any jumper cable connections between the two batteries.
•	Clean the battery terminal surfaces of corrosion to ensure clean and quick connections.

To jump start your vehicle, follow these 6 steps:
1)	Connect one end of the positive (+) cable to the positive (+) post of the dead battery. #1
2)	Connect the other end of the positive (+) cable to the positive (+) post of the source vehicle battery. #2
3)	Connect one end of the negative (-) cable to the negative (-) post of the source vehicle battery. #3
4)	Connect the other end of the negative (-) cable to the engine block of the dead vehicle, while following the safety tips above. #4
5)	Start the source vehicle, increase rpm to about 2,000 and allow two to five minutes for the dead battery to charge a little.
6)	Start the dead vehicle and remove the cables in reverse order.
